Star Trek is a very popular American science fiction entertainment series and media franchise. The Star Trek fictional universe was created by Gene Roddenberry. It has become the setting of six television series including the original Star Trek of 1966. It has also led to ten feature films and the eleventh is about to come soon. There are also dozens of video and computer games, as well as hundreds of novels and fantasy stories based on the Star Trek basis. Several fan-created video productions and a themed attraction in Las Vegas have also come from it.
